The International Youth Organic Movement - presented by Laura Colligan
Laura Colligan is a Certified Organic vegetable farmer in Western New York in the United States. She became interested in farming as a teenager, when she had her own pastured poultry business. After finishing her secondary education, she spent three years working on organic vegetable farms in several different states in the US before starting her farm, Dirt Rich Farm, in 2015 at the age of 21. She now runs the farm in partnership with her fiance, and they grow over 40 varieties of vegetables on two acres for their 135-member Community Shared Agriculture (CSA), as well as their farm stand, farmers markets, and restaurants and other local businesses. Laura serves on the board of directors of the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York and has also been involved with the National Young Farmers Coalition and the Organic Farmers Association.
